How to Activate TSN on Smart TVs and Consoles

Get the App

You need the TSN app on your device to watch content. The process differs slightly depending on which hardware you own.

Samsung Smart TVs 

Press the Smart Hub button on your remote. Navigate to Apps and select the search icon. Type TSN and select the app from the results. Choose Install to download it. Once it finishes downloading you can find it in your Home menu.

LG Smart TVs

 Press the Home button on your remote. Scroll until you find the LG Content Store. Open it and select the Search icon at the top of the screen. Enter TSN into the search bar. Select the app and click Install.

Android TV and Google TV 

This covers brands like Sony, Philips, and Hisense. Go to the Google Play Store on your TV home screen. Use the search tool to find TSN. Select Install and wait for the download to complete.

Apple TV Open the App Store from your home screen. Select the search tab and type tsn activate. Click the Get button to download the app.

Xbox and PlayStation

 Go to the Store on your console. On Xbox you search in the Microsoft Store. On PlayStation you use the PlayStation Store. Search for TSN in the apps section. Download and install the application.

Generate the Activation Code

You cannot type your username and password directly into the TV app in most cases. You must link the device to your account using a browser.

Open the TSN app on your TV or console. Navigate to the Settings tab or select any locked video content. You will see a prompt to Sign In. Select that option.

The screen displays an activation code. This is usually a mix of 6 to 8 letters and numbers. Keep this screen open. The code expires after a few minutes so you need to move quickly.

Activate via Browser

Grab your phone, tablet, or laptop. Open a web browser like Chrome or Safari.

Go to tsn.ca/activate.

You will see a box asking for the code. Enter the activation code displayed on your TV screen. Make sure you type it exactly as it appears.

The site asks you to log in. You have two choices here.

Direct Subscription

 If you pay TSN directly choose the Sign In option for direct subscribers. Enter your email and password.

TV Provider If you get TSN through a cable package like Rogers, Bell, or Telus select your provider from the list. The site redirects you to your provider’s login page. Enter your cable account credentials.

Once you log in the browser says Success. Look at your TV screen. It refreshes automatically and logs you in. You can now watch live sports and on-demand content.

Troubleshooting

Sometimes things go wrong.

Code Invalid or Expired

 If the browser says the activation code is invalid the code likely timed out. Go back to your TV. Back out of the Sign In screen and enter it again to generate a fresh code.

App Crashes 

If the TSN app freezes or crashes during this process delete the app and reinstall it. This clears corrupted data.

Browser Issues 

If the website tsn.ca/activate does not load try a different browser. Turn off ad blockers or pop-up blockers as they sometimes interfere with the login scripts.

Subscription Status 

Ensure your subscription is active. Log in to your account on a computer to check your payment status. If you use a TV provider confirm that TSN is part of your specific channel package.

Updates

 Check for system updates on your TV or console. Old operating systems often fail to run newer versions of streaming apps. Update your firmware through the device settings menu.
